What is the programme?
The Baby Explorers Playgroup for little ones aged 10-20 months offers a supportive and stimulating programme for your child(ren) to truly flourish! Children are curious explorers at this age as their physical and cognitive abilities are expanding rapidly.
At Baby Explorers, we support this development and budding independence through our safe and enriching environment. It is a language-rich space, with our team using proper nomenclature and full sentence structure rather than ‘baby talk’ to support the children's linguistic and vocabulary development. Furthermore, the environment encourages interaction between the children, thereby forming the building blocks for strong and healthy social skills.
With a plethora of resources available, little ones are given the freedom to explore and observe, express curiosity and creativity and work independently and collaboratively. Our environment aligns with the Montessori philosophy of supporting the child’s inherent natural drive to learn and focus on building self-sustainability and confidence. For instance, we have a self-care area where children learn to undertake tasks like using Velcro on shoes and feeding themselves with a spoon. In addition, week-by-week we curate specific activities that guide fine motor and gross mother skill development.
Our highly trained and compassionate team is critical to creating a calm yet busy atmosphere. Sessions will be run by a Montessori-trained teacher and four assistants, all of whom prioritise each child’s learning interests and pace. They carefully observe what captivates their attention and adjust activities accordingly, week by week. The team also demonstrates how to carry out activities and use equipment for the accompanying adult so that learning may continue at home.
Participation in the Playgroup will enable a seamless transition into our 5-day programme at Little Explorers once your child is ready to enrol to pre-school (subject to seat availability). As they will already have established strong bonds with our team, connected with their peers, and become comfortable with the environment and Montessori method, this offers a wonderful next step in their learning, should your family wish to join our School Programme in the future.
We aim to support our parents as they raise their little ones. We provide a parenting podcast, articles and insights into child development and personalised guidance on navigating and enhancing your child’s growth from an educational perspective. The relationships we build between our team and parents create a strong support network for our children and other caregivers alike.
Caregivers, such as nannies, are welcome and may benefit from mirroring the work of our trained team. We request that parents and caregivers read and sign the ‘Code of Conduct and Intent’ contract obligatory to this arrangement and attend the Group Induction class ahead of the first session (adults only). We firmly request that only one adult attend each session as we prioritise floor space for crawling, exploration and learning.
The Baby Explorers Playgroup 10–20 months sessions have a capacity of 14 Toddlers.
This programme will run up to two sessions per week on a Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30 am to 11.30 am (You could also enrol in our exciting Baby Swim Program for this group on Monday from 10 am to 11 am. These are not always consecutive)
We are unable to make up or reimburse sessions that you miss, but we will make up sessions cancelled by Baby Explorers.
