Toddler Swim Club

Toddler Swim Programme

Welcome to the Toddler Explorers Swim Programme!

We are excited to offer a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate swimming curriculum tailored to the needs of Babies in our programme. It is designed to create a positive and safe environment where children can explore the water, build confidence, and develop essential water safety skills.

Our Toddler Swim Programme aims to achieve the following objectives:

Water familiarization:

We introduce little ones to the water in a comfortable and supportive manner, helping them develop a sense of trust and confidence in aquatic environments.

Safety awareness:

We aim to teach water safety principles to both parents and children, including safe entry and exit, breath control, and basic floating techniques.

Motor skill development:

We create activities to enhance gross and fine motor skills through water-based activities that stimulate physical coordination, muscle strength, and flexibility.

Social interaction:

We foster social engagement and bonding between parents and children, as well as encourage interaction with peers through group activities and games.

Cognitive development:

Swim classes promote cognitive growth by exposing Toddlers to new sensations in the water, aiding in their sensory perception and cognitive development.

Our  Toddler Swim Programme is divided into progressive levels, each tailored to the developmental stage of the child:

Water Exploration (Ages 10-20 Months)

Mondays  (may not be consecutive) at 10:00 am.

This Class consists of 15 Minutes of parent-child Warm-up,30 Minutes of instructor-led Swim Class, and 15 Minutes of parent-child freestyle swim and play.

Encourages independent exploration and mobility in the water while maintaining a strong connection with parents. Activities include floating, kicking, and reaching for objects.

After 20 months, should your family choose to enrol at our Great Explorers Saturday Swim Club (Please visit the Great Explorer Learning Hub page on the Explorers Site), where little ones have the option to continue their swimming journey with a focus on water confidence and social engagement.

Classes are conducted by a certified swim instructor who is trained in child development, water safety, and instructional techniques. Each class is approximately 30 minutes long and includes the following components:

  1. Welcome and warm-up:
Engaging activities to ease the children into the water and help them acclimate to the aquatic environment.

  2. Skill development:
Focus on specific skills related to the developmental stage of the child, such as floating, kicking, blowing bubbles, and submersion.

  3. Games and activities:
Fun and interactive games that reinforce water skills, stimulate motor development and encourage social interaction.

  4. Parental involvement:
Parents actively participate in the classes, providing physical support and guidance to their children while also learning essential water safety techniques. Only parents may participate and must be in the pool.

  5. Safety measures:
The safety and well-being of participants is our top priority. We maintain a safe and controlled pool environment, adhere to proper water sanitation practices, and follow local and national guidelines for child safety. Instructors are trained in CPR and first aid. Babies and toddlers must wear pool-safe swim diapers when in the pool at all times.
